Friday's OCA was totally AWESOME !!!! Not sure why, but I just love rolling in hot and low, and pickling bombs down the runway. As Luke said "it's just like shooting womp-rats back home".

If I recall, was around 450 kts approaching the runway, Figmo was high and to my left. It seemed I was going to overtake him so I extended right for a bit, then back left and re-aligned on the runway. The guns starting lighting up Figmo and I thought "oh yeah, this is the life". His flares and possibly bomb blasts where all over me as I pickled 6 crater-makers, at around maybe 800 feet altitude (can't wait to watch the video of all this !!! ). Figmo pulled up and left, and I peeled off to the right. Perfect run. A quick glance over my shoulder confirmed a large number of smoking holes on the runway, a beautiful sight.

I had Falcon dreams all night...blowing runways to pieces and hearing the runway maintenance crews slap their heads and moan "oh man, not again".

I volunteer to be all-time "old school runway taker-outer"

SO you wish to be the official "...runway taker-outer", so be it. I Second-it!

Here is a photo for postarity: The resolution isn't all that great since I was above 20K, but you can see Figmo making his run over taxiway Bravo and a G-4 at the apprpoach end of the runway. His wingy is somewhere midway to departure end along the runway.

The fun part about last night's flight was pulling "double duty" as both SEAD & TARCAP with Tee'! Nothing more satisfying than getting an A/A kill on a MiG immediately off the runway. (Hope I didn't take away your thunder Dustman).

And sorry D-man that you couldn't resovlve your computer issues. There were A LOT of SA-2's & SA-3's co-located just askin' to be targeted by an SBD!

If you just need the update 1.05, the file is in the link along with the others, but you can save some download time and just get 1.05 from the other thread in this forum.

Hey all, sorry for my end game fiasco last night....my 7-year old daughter came in right as TeeSquare and I where in the landing pattern. She was in her typical "I just woke up, don't know what I'm doing, but I'm crying and you need to help me right now" mode....all she really needs is to go to the bathroom, then go back to bed.

Hopefully my crashed jet did not hinder anyone else trying to land. I guess we lost another external gas tank too...bummer.

I did figure out my issue with the SDB. Seems they have a speed limit ! If you are flying below Mach 0.6 (or above 0.9) the "JIZ" won't appear on the HUD. I did not know that...I had read the manual several times but didn't make that connection. I sometimes slow down a bit to give myself a bit more time with targeting and such...but no more !! FULL SPEED AHEAD is my new mantra. Really like the SDB....8 bombs I can toss from 30 nm away..YEAH !! If only it had a laser seeker on it; I think that a version that does that is under consideration but I'm not sure what the status is in real life.

Interesting that the minimum drop speed for the SDB is so high...I am curious why. Might have to ask some folk about that.

No worries F-Bear, family comes first. I know how hard it is to fly with a young son or daughter making noise in the back ground let alone crying. I had a feeling that is why you crashed. I have had to jump up and away from the sim a time or two for things like that. I just hope they wait until I'm in a spot where auto pilot works and not when I'm on final.
